Currently, Projects is available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Teams subscribers, with Enterprise and Edu users set to gain access in January.

It’s compatible with the ChatGPT website and Windows desktop app, though mobile and macOS users can only view projects for now without the ability to create or edit them.

Existing conversations can also be moved into a project for easy reference.

Unlike Google’s NotebookLM, which is focused on research and includes features like audio narration, Projects integrates additional ChatGPT tools, such as Voice Mode, web search, and Canvas for content creation or editing.

OpenAI is focused on keeping users within ChatGPT for all their tasks, with features like Canvas and Projects creating a unified workspace.

While NotebookLM operates as a standalone tool separate from Google’s products, Projects brings everything together in one place, aligning with OpenAI’s goal of creating a central hub for productivity.
